B. Ian Hutchins, Ph.D., Assistant Professor

Ian is an Assistant Professor of Data and Information Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Information School. He uses quantitative analysis of information networks to find ways to improve the research enterprise and accelerate biomedical research advances. He previously worked as a data scientist at NIH, where he developed the iCite bibliometrics dashboard, along with many of its quantitative metrics and the underlying NIH Open Citation Collection database. Ian also spearheaded the development of the NIH COVID-19 Portfolio to track and disseminate cutting-edge COVID-19 research in real time. Chaoqun Ni, Ph.D., Assistant Professor

Chaoqun Ni is an Assistant Professor of Data and Information Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Information School. Dr. Ni studies science, scholarship, and the scientific workforce using massive data to inform decision-makings regarding science policies. She is currently working on projects to build the infrastructure for the study of the scientific workforce based on large-scale, heterogeneous and longitudinal data, aiming to identify variables that impede and facilitate the cultivation of a competitive scientific workforce. Salsabil Arabi

Bio: Salsabil is a Ph.D. student at the UW Madison iSchool. Her research interests lie at the intersection of Data Science, HCI, and ML. She is interested in extracting insights from data and intertwining those with real-world issues. She is particularly inclined towards solving human-centric and health-related problems with the motivation to add ease to human life. Previously, she completed her B.Sc. in Computer Science from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in Fall ‘19. Jiajing Chen

Bio: Jiajing is a Ph.D. student at the UW-Madison iSchool. With background in engineering, Jiajing studies applied machine learning for science of science studies, focusing on interpretable models and automated content analysis using large-scale, hetergenous schoarly data. One of Jiajing's career goals is to use machine learning and natural language processing techinques to study tmechanisms underlying the doing of science.

Bio: Xiang is a Ph.D. student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Information School. He is interested in scienceo f sicence, sociology of science, science policy, and science evaluation. He is committed to addressing concerns for the benefit of society with both theoretical insights and empirical evidence drawn from massive data. He has degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Education from Tsinghua University, China.

Lindsay Nelson

Bio: Lindsay is in the Pharmacology and Toxicology undergraduate program at UW-Madison. After graduation, she expects to further her education in medicine in the Anesthesiologist Assistant masters program. She was born in Sun Prairie, WI but did most of her growing up in Mankato, MN and has chosen to come back to Wisconsin for school. She’s a very big fan of playing guitar and has been collecting guitars since 2016.

Satvik Shukla

Bio: Satvik is a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin- Madison, Information School pursuing an MS in Information, building on his prior degree in Information Technology(Soft Computing) from the University of Pune, India. He has professionally worked on multiple projects in the data sphere majorly focusing on user behavior and analysis in the demand and supply industry. His research interests lie in the amalgamation of Data Science, Human-Centered Computing, and Decision Science. He loves hiking, and working his way through every recipe in the family cookbook, and playing Soccer and Badminton.
